How Martha Is Staying Busy During The Coronavirus Pandemic

From cooking and baking to raising new baby geese, our founder certainly has her hands full.

There's no denying it: Martha Stewart is way more productive than most of us are during the day. She wakes up by 5 a.m. every day, whips up her daily green juice, and does yoga. Now, our founder is giving us a peek into how she's surviving self-quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic. Like all of us, Martha has been practicing social distancing at her home in Bedford, New York. Martha's been sharing glimpses into her life on her personal @marthastewart48 Instagram account, and she's been staying busy by tending to baby geese, learning the ancient game of mahjong, completing extensive gardening projects, and, of course, cooking. Here, take a look at what Martha has been cooking and baking.

Last night, she skipped takeout and cooked her own poached chicken along with stir-fried broccoli and egg drop soup, all of which she arranged atop her own platters that are exclusive to Macy's. She served everything alongside sauce made from a combination of soy sauce, scallions, ginger, garlic, and finely chopped cilantro.

She even took a page out of her close friend Snoop Dogg's book when she made BLT sandwiches earlier this week—"Cut the bacon slices into [two-inch] pieces—the way @snoopdogg does Makes it easier to use the bacon on sandwiches." It wouldn't be a true Martha sandwich without her homemade sourdough bread, which she made using an antique starter. She also showed off two voluminous loaves of brioche bread that she baked last week, which looked so good that one user commented, "Yes we know you can quarantine better than anyone, Martha!!!!"

She's also cooked simple cheese quesadillas, open-faced tartine sandwiched with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and hot cross buns with currants.

Plus, Martha is utilizing her Marley Spoon meal kits. One night she prepared Asian beef meatballs in lettuce wraps paired with a bottle of red wine from her Martha Stewart Wine Co. collection.
